Hymn of Love on a Wedding scroll – 1 Corinthians, 13

550.00

This whole 13th chapter of the 1st Epistle to the Corinthians, is by far the biggest Calligraphy project I have ever made. It was ordered as a truly majestic, special, unique, meaningful and personalized wedding gift. Messages in Texts like this one, are truly Eternal and all-inclusive – these are the very Truths of Life, that do not comply to religions or nations, so even though this is a Christian text, (similar to the Psalms), it is meant for all Humanity of this beautiful Earth. I also think that it is very practical, for this truly original gift idea (wedding or anniversary), to have the rods and ribbon to be hanged on, for it is an absolute wall decor hit, wherever You put it – it will surely be noticeable, cherished and remembered.

It took me 3 weeks to create it, and I am so satisfied with the result!! What is more important, Ivana&Dominik, who this is meant for, are all absolutely thrilled with Their gift!!!

The Text is written in Medieval Calligraphy letters, in a combination of Scripts. On both sides of the text are columns, with circles containing the letters Their names. In the space between the circles, the Myrtle flowers are placed, symbols of marital Happiness, Love, Abundance and Fertility. On the top of the design are 2 Doves representing wedding Union, holding Olive and Palm branches, symbols of marital Harmony and Faithfulness in their mouth. In the middle is a stylized Cross with 2 wedding rings, intertwined in the Eternity symbol, surrounded with the braiding ornament. It is made on hard 300 gr paper I made look old-aged. Painted with acrylic paints, decorated with golden and silver ink. As usual, all of this info is written on the back.

I wanted to prepare this scroll to be used immediately, so I put two wooden rods on the top and bottom, and decorated it with the amazing ribbon with little leaves sewed on it.
To travel safely, I packed the scroll in a box, decorated with the dark green paper and handmade sticker.

Can’t wait to repeat this … in English … or some other language?
SO, who is next?
